Small Innovation, Big Impact: Making ClickFit EVO Work for an Iconic UK Roof Tile

Small Innovation, Big Impact: Making ClickFit EVO Work for an Iconic UK Roof Tile
By Enstall

At Enstall, innovation doesn’t always mean radical reinvention. Often, it’s the small, precise adjustments—rooted in real-world installer feedback—that create the biggest impact. The newest example? A redesigned roof hook that extends our ClickFit EVO system to a distinct and highly visible segment of the UK market: roofs with the iconic Rosemary tiles.

A Roofing Tradition Meets a New Generation of Solar
Rosemary tiles are a fixture on pitched roofs across the UK and Ireland. With over 175 years of history, they’re prized for their traditional look, long-lasting clay construction, and ability to endure the harshest weather. They’re part of what gives British homes their character—and they’re not going anywhere.

But until recently, installing solar on these classic roofs was a challenge. Traditional mounting systems often required time-consuming workarounds or introduced risks to the integrity of the tile. Installers needed a better option—one that respected the tile’s heritage while delivering the speed and reliability that define ClickFit EVO.

Enstall’s new solution answers that need—without compromise. With the Rosemary tile hook we now have a one-stop-shop for the installer and for every roof in the UK. As with all our products, the new Rosemary hook meets the highest quality standards, tested under extreme conditions to ensure it performs reliably over decades.  Because when a mounting system is expected to carry a solar array for 25 years or more, only the best will do.

Listening to Installers, Adapting for the Market
Working closely with our UK sales team and local solar professionals, we developed a new hook designed specifically for Rosemary tiles. As always, the goal wasn’t to change how UK installers work—it was to build a solution that fits naturally into their preferred approach.

The result is a custom hook that clicks into place without adding unnecessary steps. It’s compatible with the rest of the ClickFit EVO system, which uses just four components. That means installers save time, reduce risk, and maintain the aesthetics of the roof—all without changing their trusted methods.

Adapting a Proven System, Not Reinventing It
ClickFit EVO has become the go-to residential mounting solution across Europe, with applications in Germany, the Netherlands, France, and expanding in the UK. Its modular design and easy-click functionality have reduced installation times and minimized the need for tools.

But every country—and every roof—comes with its own expectations. What works in the Netherlands, where installers favor hanging hooks without screws, doesn’t always suit Germany, where installers insist on fastening components directly into the structure. These are not just technical differences—they’re cultural ones. And at Enstall, we embrace them.

This latest adaptation proves that flexibility doesn’t mean compromising on quality. Built with durable materials and validated through rigorous, country-specific testing and certification processes, the new hook is designed to perform under all conditions—just like the rest of the ClickFit EVO family.

A System Built for Scale, Shaped by Culture
The development of this UK-specific hook is part of a broader evolution: expanding ClickFit EVO to meet the roofing realities of more countries and more customers. From flat tile shingles in the UK to clay tiles in Spain, each adaptation begins the same way—with a conversation.

By keeping our ears open to what installers are saying and our tools flexible enough to meet their needs, we’re creating products that feel local, not forced. That’s how we’ve built ClickFit EVO to support more than 10 roof attachment types—and why we’re just getting started.

Coming This Autumn
The new Rosemary-compatible hook will officially launch in the UK this autumn, following a successful preview earlier this year in Birmingham and a showcase at Intersolar last week. It’s a small part with a big purpose: to make solar easier, faster, and better for every kind of roof.

Because at Enstall, progress means meeting installers where they are—and building tools that make sense from the rooftop up.
